The Kalam Cosmological Argument

This is how the cosmological argument is formulated:

Premise 1: Everything that begins to exist has a cause.

Premise 2: The universe began to exist.

Conclusion: The universe has a cause.

In society, most people agree that the universe had a beginning. Atheists believe that the cause of the universe was the Big Bang whereas Christians believe that the cause was God.

Let’s think about that for a second. If you follow the logic of the Big Bang you’ll find that everything in existence from the laws of physics and maths, to the matter that makes up our world all came from nothing. Christians believe that everything came from infinitely everything (God). Which do you think makes more sense?

Atheists usually reply with “Well, who created God then?” which shows their lack of understanding on the topic. Whatever created time and matter needs to be outside of time and matter; which is a concept that we humans are incapable of wrapping our heads around and is the main reason why atheists have trouble believing in God.

It takes a lot of faith to believe in the Big Bang.

In this video we get to see Dr William Lane Craig in action as he argus the cosmological argument against athiest pholosopher Alex O’Connor.
